The 12 principles of animation

The following 12 basic principles of animation were developed by the old men of Walt Disney Studios, amongst them Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston, during the 1930s. Of course they were not old men at the time, but young men who were at the forefront of exciting discoveries that were contributing to the development of a new art form. These principles came as a result of reflection about their practice and through Disneys desire to devise a way of animating that seemed more real in terms of how things moved, and how that movement might be used to express character and personality.

Hulu to debut animated series, ‘The Bravest Knight’

Hulu will debut its original animated kids series, The Bravest Knight. The 13-part animated children's series is based on Daniel Errico's book The Bravest Knight Who Ever Lived. The show features T.R. Knight (Grey’s Anatomy) as Sir Cedric, Bobby Moyhan (DuckTales, We Bare Bears) as young Cedric's troll sidekick Grunt, Storm Reid (A Wrinkle in Time) as Nia. The opening theme song was written and performed by Grammy-nominated musician, songwriter and activist Justin Tranter.

Divine Consultants – The Beginning finds a 16-year-old Joy who lives in a divided world, where everyone has to choose their side and powerful Zeniths discriminate against the minority, Nadir. The Nadir are rumoured to spread a dangerous disease that only infects the Zenith. Frustrated Joy tries to merge into the mainstream by any means, but when her friend Hope disappears mysteriously, she has enough. Joy explores the mutation of a strange society by transforming herself into a film noir detective, but does her alter ego comes in her way.

Resurging the old anime classic characters in the form of computer-generated imagery and live-action has been the flavour of the season for quite some time now. Having set the popular cinema aswirl, a smattering of 2D animation classics have been stylised to live-action imagery over the past decade or so. Indian studio Street Lamp Games bags ‘Best Mobile Game’ award at Casual Connect Europe 2019

Indie Prize London 2019 took place on the last day of Casual Connect Europe 2019 and Indian Indie studio Street Lamp Games bagged ‘Best Mobile Game’ award for the game BOMBARIKA designed by Mahesh Athirala. Earlier at NGF Awards of Indian Game Developer's Conference 2018, the game BOMBARIKA claimed the runner-up position but this time the studio has left Grand Mountain (Toppluva), Wingy Shooters (PigCell Studio) and Pocket Forest (Battlemango) to claim the winner's prize along with $36000 worth Tenjin credits.

Bengaluru GAFX 2019, India's premier event on animation, visual effects, gaming and comics (AVGC) is taking place at Hotel Lalit Ashok, Bengaluru from 21 to 23 June 2019. Cartoon Network Stacks Up ‘We Bare Bears’ Movie, Baby Bears Spinoff

Cartoon Network is expanding the storytelling for its global hit, Emmy-nominated series We Bare Bears, created by two-time Annie Award winner Daniel Chong. We Bare Bears The Movie is now in production, and a spinoff series focused on the popular baby bear characters is in development at Cartoon Network Studios.
